3 producer, Mike Jones, has told CVG
the huge improvement gamers can expect in the open world sequel. For starters players won't be running into the same setting or location more than once. This means each building, street, alley will be unique.
"We're not using the same textures over and over again, nor are we using the same geometry over and again. Every building and every interior in Dead Rising 3 is hand made and hand crafted. You'll never see the same building twice."
That goes the same for Zombies as each will appear dynamically with missing eyes, broken jaws, etc.
"It's all procedurally generated: hair styles, clothing, colours, textures. And the gore is too: missing jaws, missing eyes... it's all totally dynamic. That's a whole system that we built. We didn't just model the zombies, we had to model the pieces and the system puts them together."
But the biggest improvement, in my opinion, is the removal of loading screens. The series is infamously known to have ridiculous loading segments that totally break up the momentum and action of the game. Dead Rising 3 is said to take advantage of the Xbox One and make sure the open world experience is as seamless as it gets.
