WHAT. THE. (insert word of choice here).
Yes, you read it correctly, EA has just announced that they will only be releasing the highly anticipated 2014 World Cup game on PS3 and Xbox360. The reason? well, being the worst company in America for two years in a row (as voted by the people and beating the evil "Bank of America"
, Twice.) the reason shouldn't surprise us at all, it is - and I quote the game's producer Matt Prior- ; "We've got to focus development on where there will be biggest for the buck."...
Hey. Dumbdumb, are you kidding me? At least twist it a bit... lie about it instead of shoving it in our face (Us being all the eager gamers who rushed and took big risks to step into the world of nextgen as soon as it was available) some of us have done the impossible to get a PS4
or an XboxOne and this is what we deserve? We're being ignored by one of the biggest gaming companies in the world because there aren't enough of us to bring them the "big buck"... this is ridiculous on too many levels.
This basically means that the game will be made to run on the classic Unreal Engine, which means it will be nothing like the PS4/XboxOne version of FIFA14
that uses the newly introduced Ignite engine. Funny story about that is that EA so desperately tried to convince us the players that this new engine is the way to go and that it is fundamentally different from the older engine (which we should forget about and trade our PS3 FIFA14 for the PS4 version for $10)... how can they swing this news by after all the marketing and advertising they adopted for the Ignite engine, brainwashing gamers into thinking it really is fundamentally different (it isn't).
But wait a minute... did they say they are only releasing it on PS3 and Xbox360? well something is definitely not right here, knowing EA's FIFA and World Cup line, they are usually released on every god forsaken console there is! FIFA13 was released on the PS2 believe it or not... which leads me to the following conclusion;
Keep your hard earned money in your pockets, FIFA World Cup will be released on Next Gen soon after it's initial PS3/X360 release.
It is no secret that EA is one of the biggest vampire gaming companies in the world, they will feed on every drop of your gaming money then squeeze your pockets even further, keeping that in mind it seems quite obvious that they want to sell the game twice to the same gamers, and this won't happen if they tell them that it is coming to PS4 and XboxOne. (They will probably do a pay $15-20 and upgrade to Next Gen soft copy deal)
Either way, I personally won't be picking up this game for PS3, which is a shame since the FIFA World Cup line has always been my favorite from EA, but this time, they really pushed through the limits, enough is enough.
