Like Nostradamus, I have seen in the future, and all of my
thoughts about the upcoming Call of Duty are true. While most of you were
peacefully sleeping last night, or maybe going into intense raids of World of
Warcraft, I myself was watching the NBA Playoffs. Why should you care? Well,
because this is when the first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II came out
live in the world.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be Activision’s first
episode set in the future. Now don’t expect aliens, flying saucers and
nanosuits, this is no Crysis 3. We discover Sergeant Frank Woods - from the
original Black Ops - in June 2025, illustrated the modernization of weapons of
war. Drones, robots, unmanned tanks, alien-shaped jets… Well, the future as we
would like to see it.

The other playable character is a certain D. Mason, which
bring all kind of hypothesis if he’s perhaps related with Black Ops’ Captain
Alex Mason. The main plot seems simple: Technology and robotic warfare has
became so much advanced that computers control drones, tanks and all sorts of
automated battle machines.
As Woods describes it, “Technology is stronger, and
we got weaker. We build computers, robots, hordes of unmanned armies, and no
one ever asked what happens when the enemies steals the keys?”

The main villain in the game is a man named Raul Martinez,
using computer hacking tactics to control drones and robotic weapons to build
tension between the two superpowers of the future: China and the United States
of America. His first move was a massive unmanned attack on downtown Los
Angeles.

One of the most interesting factors of the upcoming game are three main
features: Branched storyline, a new game mode called Strike Force and the
return of Zombie Mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s storyline will be based on
branched scenario. In missions, players will be able to control the way they
want to tackle difficulties, whether becoming a support element of the squad,
or rushing alongside its teammates. This all will affect the outcomes of the
rest of the story. Multiple ending possibilities? That could be possible.

Strike Force missions on the other hand, is a semi-mode of
the singleplayer campaign. It is not like the Black Ops mission of Call of
Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3, but will be unlocked throughout the main
campaign, helping out shaping the main story.

Finally the zombie mode is coming back, featuring new
elements and features than the previous Call of Duty: Black Ops. No much is
known at the time, but we should be hearing about it very soon.

So this is it soldier. The moment all of you Call of Duty
fanatics were waiting for… Another Call of Duty is coming to all platforms this
year. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is scheduled for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360
release on November 13th. As always, tune in to At7addak daily for more news
about the game as they arrive.
