As of yesterday, Borderlands 2 is now officially Gold. What
does that mean for you? If you’re not familiar with gaming production terms, it
means that Borderlands 2 is done with production, ready to get burned on discs.
A representative at Gearbox stated that “the team is now
shifting their focus towards post-launch efforts, including the Mechromancer:
the new character class that will be released as free downloadable content to
members of the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club roughly 60 to 90 days after
launch."
Want to play as the Mechromancer? Well, all you have to do
is become a member of the Borderlands Premiere Club, by pre-ordering the game.
Don’t forget that having a save file from the previous Borderlands will also
give you bonus goodies at launch, the Vault Veteran skin package.
Borderlands 2 releases on September 18 for the Xbox 360,
