Quake, one of the greatest classic games, and father of most first person shooters, may launch another game in the franchise. The rumor started with a tweet by Evolve PR, a public relations agency that promotes gaming companies the likes of Atari, 2K Games and Microsoft Game Studios.
The agency reported on Twitter that those who are going to QuakeCon - the annual Quake players meeting in the United States - will see the rebirth of a "beloved classic PC shooter."
Quake V might be the perfect opportunity to rescue the roots of the genre, bringing back old school arena shooters. id Software’s John Carmack, did mention back this year that he would love to work on the franchise again. Quakecon starts off on August 2nd, so tune in next month for more information about the game.
