After the A30 and A40, Astro Gaming announces its new
high-end headphones: the logically named A50. With 40mm speakers and Dolby 7.5
powered sound, the headset promises total immersion. Before we continue, make
sure to read our review of the Astro Gaming A40 Wired Headset to have an idea.

Like the second edition of the Astro Gaming A40, the A50
will also be wireless for unconstrained excitement, when you’re playing you
favorite games. Because it is wireless, you should expect a frequency level
quite lower than a wired headset: specifically a range of sounds between 20hz
to 20'000Hz (the Astro A40 reaches ranges between 18Hz and 25'000Hz).

The bad part about the wireless feature is that for
professional events, the headset won’t be allowed. Because Astro Gaming
headsets were always seen as the weapon of choice of professional gamers, I
have a feeling that fewer people would think to invest in this new upgrade.
This on the other hand would be perfect for those wishing to play at home,
happily sitting in their sofa.
As for design wise, don’t expect any major change. Since
Astro Gaming realized that the A40 model design was greatly appreciated, they
did not search to further expand their new model and have therefore adopted the
same general form, only by changing some colors.

Nevertheless, we hope we’ll get our hands soon on the new
model, and will be giving you a review, before you invest in these $300 worth
wireless headset.
