When you think of Xbox Live Summer of Arcade, you usually
think of small indie made games, but at least high quality ones. Well, one of
the games coming this year, and more specifically next week, is something well
worth to look at if you’re competitive to the bones: Hybrid.

A kind of hybrid – see what I did there – between Vanquish,
Halo and Dead Space, Hybrid seems to be strong enough to face the tough competition
in the third person shooter genre, especially with a full 60fps, 720p engine.
And for a XBLA title, it is rather a surprise in both graphical and gameplay
wise.

The game is set between two factions: the
"infected" Variants and "immune" Paladins, and as any third
person shooter worthy of the name, many modes will unlock upgrades for your
armor and weapons.
One server will be dedicated to the online game that
promises great games without lag against players all over the world. Players
will focus on capturing and defending their territories while performing the
different challenges offered by the game.

Funny enough, developers 5th Cell, are not really known for creating this type of games, but with Scribblenauts’ Jeremiah Slaczka on the team,
this Xbox Live Arcade title, coming next week, should be a good blast for competitive
gaming.
