Two weeks ago, on July 27th, the finals for our Round 2 of the Starcraft II 2012 Intergalactic tournament took in the midst of the holy month of Ramadan. With the majority of our finalists playing while fasting, keybinding were assigned, knuckles were cracked and breaths were taken away as some of the most intense matches were played in one night.

First up was our Egyptian Protoss player, SupernOOb faced against the crazy Zerg invasion from Iraq, Nesquik. The latter who also happens to be our second runner up in Round 1, took home the silver medal for the second time. A strong contender in our Tournament. NesquiK grabbed the round easily with a quick 2-0.
The Emirati Zerg player, IDoGeDoNYou, played against his fellow compatriot, the infamous Papoolee. Our renowned Protoss champion of first round, and the one and only Grand Master to emerge from the Middle East, won the series easily for the second time with a 2-0.
The notorious and community favorite Terran player, hailing all the way the UAE, LighT took on the Master Zerg from KSA, qussai. The latter topped this round ladder, leading with 630 points in Week 1. Confident with his score, he didn’t even feel the need to even try and get a higher score in Weeks 2 and 3. The Zerg was victorious in this series, defeating LighT 2-0.
From Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Van Mezian, is another Master Terran, finishing 8th on our ladder with 140 points in Week 2. Van Mezian was pitted against Brisingr from Bahrain, but had no difficulty to emerge victorious.
As players were set for the Semi-Finals, NesquiK met our champion PaPoolee to launch the second part of our tournament. These two rivals were previously finalists of our last tournament and faced off once again this time. NesquiK seemed to be a very good contender for our champion, giving him a run for his money, but Grand Master Papoolee rised out victorious.
On the other side, the Master Zerg player qussai took on his fellow national from KSA, Master Terran Van Mezian. qussai finished with a blast, bringing him closer to the first prize as proceeds to meet PaPoolee in the final stage.

The Grand Finals were played in a best of 5 series. The night stretched out pretty late, as qussai and PaPoolee squared off for game one in the Grand Finals. Due to unfortunate timing and frequent disconnects. qussai was unable to complete the series, leaving PaPoolee the crowned champion for the second time of our Starcraft II 2012 Intergalactic Tournament.
