Are you a burning rubber fanatic? Well you will love this piece of news, as Codemasters just officially announced that GRID 2, the long awaited sequel to Race Driver: GRID, is coming back, launching next year. We told you the rumors were true!
GRID 2 will challenge players to be fast, featuring all new locations like Chicago and Paris, and stunning graphical power thanks to the EGO Game Technology Platform, giving you rich sceneries, realistic damage, smart racer AI and the infamous Flashback time rewind feature.
“GRID’s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again,” said Clive Moody, Executive Producer. “The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race.”
Grid 2’s career mode will also get an overhaul, as players will have to go through aggressive racing against smart opponents, and an upgraded handling system that made the game what it is today, the all-new TrueFeel Handling System will be challenging to master.
Players will race their way to the top of the motorsport world, from the street of Paris to Abu Dhabi, Miami, and even real life circuits and nature’s known peaks. Integrated with RaceNet –Codemasters Racing’s own community portal – will bring a new meaning to rewards and rivalry, as you challenge the world’s best online.

GRID 2 is set for release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in Summer of 2013. Make sure to tune in daily on our site, for further news about the title.
