Hitman Absolution is moving up to the final stages of production, which means the game of course will come very soon. Here in Cologne, Square Enix are going to unveil the last pieces of the game: Contracts. Imagine if you can start killing other agents around the world, online from your home. Imagine the possibilities of being able to mess someone’s contract before they reach their goals; this is Contracts.
After showing us once again the known gameplay trailer from Hitman Absolution, we arrive to a certain part where one of the sergeants, Meyer, is actually a new contracts via the internet. Now, this same demo, which was about getting away from the cops, has changed because of the contracts. You have a new task now which is to kill Sergeant Meyer.
Agent 47 gets in the room, and steal a costume from a police man so he can walk rather freely around the cops. As Agent 47 reaches the middle of the room where Meyer is located, he passes from cover to cover until he’s behind him. He tosses a vase away, to distract the other cops, and can now kill his contract, get the prize and continue with the mission.
The good thing about these contracts is that it adds a lot of replay value in the game, in so many ways, because yourself and other players will be able to create their own contract, with the creator mode. The nice thing about the creator mode is that you will mark new targets for your friends as you go through your mission. This way, there’s no extra complicated mode where you have to put values, elements to create a contract. You can put up to three different targets, and will have to go through them yourself as a creator, before being uploaded.
This is a hint of competitive gaming in Hitman, to try to find the best assassin in the world, with leaderboards, and money award in the game, that you can then use to buy better weapons, suits, and disguise to help you out in missions and in the creator mode.
We will be passing by the Hitman Absolution booth tomorrow at the fair to try out the contract mode, and give you more news about it.
