Today, during the
Gamescom
press conference, Sony announced the new chapter in the Killzone series, and it's making its way exclusively for the Vita. Killzone: Mercenary. Sony promised to deliver the best FPS experience that no other platform can do, in response to Resistance: Burning Skies' poor sales.
The game was unveiled with its debut trailer showing off the hostile world where a mercenary fights one hell of an action-packed battle.
Touchscreen-controlled melee attacks are implemented in the in-game footage, and a sort of currency being earned with each kill. The name of the
title and debut trailer hints that we'll no longer control one of the ISA troops or a member of the Helghast, but instead, we'll be taking control of a mercenary.
Sony gave no more information regarding the release date, campaign mode or multiplayer mode. However, we hope that we can get some new information about this title soon enough, this week in Cologne, at Gamescom 2012.
