Blizzard will be introducing a new progression system alongside the Heart of the Swarm expansion for Starcraft 2.

In the new progression system, players can earn experience points by competing in the online ladders and even in custom games, however, its limited to official Blizzard maps. Pretty much everything you do earns your experience. Your points will be given to you at the end of every match raising your level from 1 to the maximum level of 20.

A lot of different things can earn you points like building powerful armies, finishing a match to the end, causing maximum damage along with other in game feats. Blizzard also stated some Bonus XP for certain challenges like your first win of the day, double XP weekends and playing with a Battletag or Real-ID friend.

Players will be rewarded with portraits and decals through this system. Tons of new portraits to collect and show off to your friends. Each portrait symbolizes a certain feat you've achieved through out your career. Also, your cumulative level which is made up of your experience with all three races will be displayed right next to your portrait so other players can check out just how good you are.

Blizzard will be testing out these new features during the Heart of the Swarm beta. Be sure to check out our Starcraft 2 Intergalactic Tournament and join us and some of the best Arab players in the world for awesome cash prizes and merchandise.
