The Ouya is a console that will feature it's own version of the Android operating system. It's a platform that features it's own store where you can purchase games and applications. As well as a TwitchTV app and access to the OnLive video game streaming service. It mostly catered to Indie games but I'm sure as its popularity rises, the big boys will want it in.

The Ouya console was put together by a team of industry veterans. It was crowd funded by a kick starter program where it raised $8 million. Now, it's finally here. The first Ouya consoles have been shipped to the developers and we finally get a look at it. Check it out below.
The console is pretty much an Android tablet but what is really cool about it is that the developers are open to modding and have the made the console mod-friendly. It also features a development kit where the gamers can actually develop their own games without a licensing fee.

Another cool feature is that every game on the Ouya has to have some sort of free-to-play kind of thing. Whether the game is a freemium, has a free trial period or a demo. Basically, you get to try every game before you buy it. What do you guys think? For the price $100, they've got my money.
