Riot Games is taking eSports to the next level. First, they brought huge tournaments with even larger cash prizes. Believe it or not, they've taken the game's competitive nature up a few notches with season 3.

Professional teams from all around the world will be competing on a weekly basis. Every week, teams will compete in regular season games that eventually lead to the much awaited playoffs. Eight teams from North America and eight teams from Europe will battle their way for regional dominance. Of course, every team must compete with other teams in the same region throughout the season.
In the middle of the season, Riot Games will launch the promotional tournament where the top six teams from each division will be battling for cash prizes and a place in the second half of the season. The All-Star throwdown, pitting the top players from around the world assembled into regional teams, will also take place during the midseason break.

North American teams will duke it out on Thursdays and Fridays and the European teams will go at on Saturday and Sunday. Best of all, you can catch the HD live stream for free with stats, analysis and play-by-play commentary. I applaud Riot Games on their effort and their contribution to eSports. I don't play League of Legends personally, but all this still sounds really exciting.
