Rejoice! The Day Z standalone finally gets a release window. Dean Hall recently jumped up on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything thread where fans can pretty much ask him anything.

First question that was asked was about a possible release window for the Day Z Standalone, where Dean Hall answered that the standalone Day Z is looking at an April release date. He also commented that he would give a solid release date after the tech test is over, anything before that is mere speculation.

The tech test will available to the selected few who will receive invites but then would be open to the public when the architectural issues are smoothed out. Dean was also asked if a Day Z sequel would be possible to which he replied
"... sequels are really just a numbers game. If the idea is still fresh, I hope the harsh approach of Day Z spawns a sequel, so long as that sequel tried something new and fresh (but with the same flavor) on, say, the PS4 and/or the Steambox. I mean, why not? "

Then a Reddit user asked how he felt about the whole War Z scandal, Dean replied
" I am angry about The War Z. I’m very angry. I’m quite hurt personally because anyone can see how similar the words are, and while the average gamer knows the difference individual people don’t. I’ve had family members/close friends mistake the difference and confront me about what they believed was unethical behavior they thought I was making. I really don’t think anyone can understand just quite how exasperated that can make you feel when you’ve gambled everything on something, put your whole self and reputation on the line. So it hasn’t made my life very pleasant and I disagree entirely with the conduct and how consumers have been treated.”
