So the Revolution DLC is coming this Monday on the Xbox 360. This is the first DLC in Call of Duty history to feature a new weapon, so Treyarch felt it was important to discuss more about the Peacekeeper.

So, from the start Treyarch were looking to set this DLC apart. Knowing that SMGs and Assault rifles were the most popular weapons of choice, they merged the two together into an SMG/Assault Rifle hybrid and deemed it, the Peacekeeper. The Peacekeeper has the lightweight design of an SMG, but with the range and accuracy of an assault rifle. It's also white so it sticks out from the other weapons.

Now, when Black Ops 2 first launched, the SMG class was definitely the most overpowered. After a few nerfs and patches, they were calmed a bit. Recoil increased, accuracy and range decreased. Now, the Peacekeeper is bringing the accuracy and range back up with the firepower of an SMG. However, this buff comes at a cost, the close range firepower. Does that really matter?
Let's be honest, when in a close quarter situation, the majority of players go for a melee instead of hip-firing. So, the only downside of the Peacekeeper is totally eliminated for those who's initial reflex is to stab rather than shoot from the hip. With the Peacekeeper being great from medium to long range and with the rate of an SMG, prepare to be horribly abused by the Peacekeeper come Monday. It just might be a little slice of what we went through during launch.
