A reliable source has told Kotaku that the Playstation 4 will be released this November and you can control it with your smartphone.
Any other day, I would've dismissed this rumor along with a dozen others. However, the big Playstation event is tonight, so a rumor that spreads just hours before the actual reveal might have a bit more credibility. Let me explain, so the event is going to be huge tonight. They've rented out a huge arena and the whole world is watching and everybody is expecting something huge. A rumor can spring from almost anything like a few misplaced documents, some eavesdropping or maybe just word of mouth. A lot of the people working and helping prep the arena must've found something out and spread the word.
Regardless, the rumor is that the Playstation 4 will be released this November and there will be two models. One for $429 and the other for $529. Another thing the rumor brought up is that we'll be able to control the Playstation 4 from our phones. We'll be able to send messages and purchase downloadable content which will download directly to our consoles.
The third thing the rumor brought up is that Sony will be following in Microsoft's steps. Most Playstation 4 features will require a monthly subscription fee and the new network will be called "Playstation World" and not Playstation Plus. Lastly, the Playstation 4 will ship with an integrated Playstation Eye. Which allows you to watch your friends playing live. If your friend gets a new game and you'd like to watch him play, you can directly from your Playstation 4. All this and more will be confirmed tonight at the Playstation Event tonight.
On another note, Gamestop's CEO tweeted earlier "Got to see Battlefield 4 today and all I can say is WOW!" Battlefield's official twitter account later tweeted back "Can't wait for you all to see it!" It's no coincidence that this happened on the same day of the big Playstation 4 reveal. I predict Battlefield 4 will debut alongside the new console.
